Chk disk scan

Hi ,

everytime i boot the pc windows keeps running a chk disk scan for my F: drive does anyone know how i can stop this

what u mean

well i ran it n it did the scan w.e and when i restart the comp it starts to scan agian

 

When you shut down your computer at the end of each day, are you using the Start menu to shut it down, or are you pushing the button on the front of the PC?

 

yeh i guess thats wher the problem is (shutting it down by pushign the button)

i know im suppose to shut it down properly

 

Every time you shut it down that way (by pushing the button) you are running the risk of doing some serious, possibly irreparable, damage. The scan disk will stop if you stop just pushing the off button

Why are you not shutting it down using Windows shutdown feature? Is there another issue preventing you from doing so?

 

just a habit im kind of lazy so rather then waiting pushing the button shuts down the pc faster , but i no it does damage , so im going to avoid doing that n turn it off properly

Depending on your machine, you may be able to set it up to do a soft shutdown when you press the button.

Let me know if you're interested it trying it.

 

you mean when i push the power button it will turn off slowly, i know how to set that up

cuz if i hold the power button n then it shuts down but if i press it then it turns of slowly

Or if want to save a click or two you can make your own shutdown button.I have one next to my start button and a single click shuts down my pc.
