chkdsk every time on win7

I have a dual boot with WinXP and Win7 and it chkdsk every time at lease 3 times but not on WinXP

I had the same problem dual booting XP and 8.1 preview when I switched from 8.1 preview to XP OR vice versa. Hopefully someone can explain what's going on.

 

As I can't replicate this problem this is a shot in the dark but it cannot do any harm. Install Partition Wizard and try using Align All Partitions.

 

I did this and it says that they are aligned.

XP is not native to AHCI. That may be a possible reason for the error causing the chkdsk. Setup will fail if the drive is set to AHCI, instead of EIDE. If drivers have not been properly installed post install, setting the drive to AHCI will cause hardware errors.

What is the drive set to in the BIOS?

I'm guessing you partitioned one hard drive, or do you have multiple drives?

 

I tried to stop the CHKDSK it seemed like a hundred ways that finally got a blue screen with non genuine windows software in small letters in the right hand bottom corner and was really pissed after witch
I finally got it straighten out after I called MicroSoft and after getting 4 different tech people I couldn't understand or hear the first 3. eventually I had to reload the OS for another time and now the computer boots into both WinXP
and Win7 and is pretty fast I am now a HAPPY CAMPER.
