either of theseYou use a Hewlett Packard (HP) ScanJet 5100c scanner with the HP driver.
    • You have not updated the scanner driver to the Windows XP version that is available from Hewlett Packard

Normally once checkdisk runs through it resets the 'dirty bit' on the drive concerned so that it is not called again.

Have you let it run through when booting? I know this takes time - have a bottle of wine meanwhile.

yes i have yesterday it found and cleaned some dirty bits but today it found nothing
i let anything that springs up do it job as i dont understand much about computers and its better to be safe than sorry
