these elements have existed in gaming before but now they're just all in one. I disagree with any form of exploiting religion or political believes in games.
A little note, not considering the game:
What about the Protestands or the Orthodoxes of Constantinopole? Are these churches not cristian?

Another example of the Chrisitan right looking for ways to push their agenda.... even if they insist that their game is based on a fictional series of books.

As a regular target of the Christian right, I personally feel that there needs to be some reigning in of this group. Unfortunately, until we get rid of the current regime in Washington (Halfway there) I don't think we will see any positive changes.

You strike me as intellectually dishonest. All that is wrong around you, and you want to focus on this? What it's really about is people of your ilk being perfectly willing to denigrate and eventually begin persecuting Christians in America, and have government do it too.. We'll see more of this as the years go by. It's well advance throughout the Middle East and Europe.

I think that you'll find that if a government has any kind of religious influence, it's going to - whether deliberately or intentionally - persecute people of other faiths. You can't get around that. That's why I think goverments should be as un-influenced by religion as possible. Unfortunately what with religion being as prolific as it is today, in most countries anyway, that's never going to happen.

Couldnt have put it better,as long as being "whatever" will push you over 50% mark religion will remain,I'm quite amazed how much religion still prospers through our "modern" western politics, the values of all religions I'v seen are the exact opposite of what polititions do,they are within the outer limits of hypocrisy if they truley believe in thier faith.

As far as I'm concerned polititions should have no affiliation with any group which may influence thier decision, they are there to serve the people,as a whole, equally.:)

The problem with ALL religions is the "Zealots", they believe that they are being persecuted, and they fight back. The only problem is that they do not see that the mass majority of people are sick and tired of some Religious Zealot trying to preach to them. The Jewish say there chosen, the Christians say there going to heaven, the Muslims say the same.

There must be a heck of a lot of people in heaven wondering just what the heck the others are there for, because here on Earth they swore that only there faith would be rewarded..............Sheesh Talking about Religion is just a wasted effort.....as nobody listens anyways.

I hope the clerics of all the faiths find time for a meeting. With some clerics "guaranteeing" that Muslim martyrs will get 72 virgins in heaven, after murdering Christians or Jews, it may be necessary for real Muslims to invoke fatwah on these lunatics. It's sad that disturbed and impressionable youth, take this sort of preaching as truth. The last time, the world was purged of the crap-mongers there were more than 60,000,000 deaths. We really don't need that again, do we?

Actually, that was just addressing the thread topic. I have no issue with people ahving faith, in fact I know for a fact that Faith is somethat this is a basic psychological need in the Human psyche, but by the same token, people using that ideology as an axcuse to persecute those they feel do not fit in their narrow definition of what society and the world should be, they need some assistance. As to intellectuial dishonesty, I can think of nothing more dishonest than to have the intellectual blinders so firmly attached that you can not accept people for who they are if it falls outside your tiny definition of what is right in the world. I believe people need to do what ever it is that makes them whole and happy, right to the point where it directly.infringes on another person's ability to do so. I hope I have cleared up that misconception for you that I may have accidentally layed the grounbdwork for

What game? I didn't see a link anywhere. All I see is one person's description of the 'game'. Sounds like marketing to me to put some butts in the seats. One of these variations of religion will always get a few recruits who feel left out of society. It's really sad that they have to find comfort in an outside entity that will cure all their ills, be it a physical or mental need.

BTW chemo, I wasn't getting on your case specifically, just commenting about the thread as a whole. :)

If you're all acting like this, no wonder so many people think games are the same as real life, and go around pretending to be CJ from GTA:SA.

It's based on a prophecy in the Bible.

"It said: “This game is irresponsible and highly racist. It demonises every other religion which isn’t Christianity." - That made me laugh, Muslims say that about other religions, and plus Blacks, Asians, Europeans, whatever can be a certain religion, so therefore it can't be racism.

They're just playing the usual accusations.

"Muslim groups have denounced the game as portraying Islam as evil and accuse its creators of insulting their faith. The Muslim Association of Britain called for the game to be banned, describing it as evil."

This is based on a prophecy, and if they're saying the game's evil, then that means they're saying Christianity's evil. So it goes both ways.
