Christmas Lights/Webcam is up ...

Since MG'ers MG'ers seemed to like my halloween decorations and webcam and Major Attitude/Sgt. Sweetie asked if there was a Christmas version ... welll l ... needless to say, there is!

You can check out the christmas lights anytime ... but come on by this evening and have fun with the christmas webcam which allow you to pan/zoom the webcam and control the lights - yep, turn 'em on and off via the web!

The neighbors asked me a few days ago "so when does the light show start for Christmas?" and I told 'em it was coming real soon! ;-)

 

I just turned 'em on early for you Halo - hope you are still up! ;-)

I mentioned the christmas web stats above, but I just put togather some additional data showing the inbound traffic from various sites, includes MajorGeeks.Com - it's all part of my Christmas/2004 Slashdot Effect Analysis - haven't had the /. crowd come by yet ... but a few other "heavy" sites in addition to MG! ;-)

I answer that question in the Christmas FAQ but in summary, yes, at a neighbors across the street - that's why you occasionally see a car drive by, especially if you pan it down.

BTW, I just popped another post asking for audio assistance on a recording I got of "Mr. Too Many Christmas Decorations Man" in case anyone can help.

 

BTW, since you guys like it a lot, how 'bout casting a "vote" for it as one of the Top Ten Webcams at Earthcam - there's a nomination button at the bottom - thanx! ;-)

 

I write from Northern Ontario and heard on the radio this AM the site of your lights!!
Now I am logged in but can"t find the webcam site, What am I doing wrong or am I just blind?

 

the lights are down for tonight 12/14/04. They should be back up tomorrow and he has something "cool" planned as well. Hang tight

 

Just a side note, I saw this mentioned on the weather channel this morning

 

Yea, it's outa control ... seems to be popping up everywhere - web server is hanging in there though ... barely!

BTW, the "cool" thing mentioned above was I went up in the Channel-7 Copter to provide a live report from 1,000 feet up - see it all in the christmas movies page

Yea, it's been a lotta fun ... and yes, my son Kyle was pretty funny with that comment - you can't "script" stuff like that with a 3-year old, but it was perfect timing.

Since the story went out on the AP Wires, there has been a ton of publicity and some folks have said I should be on David Letterman/etc. ... **SO** ... if you think so (feel free to check out the christmas video's - note that I got MG on tape with the channel 9 segment) ... then I've attached some contact info below. I actually have a MajorGeeks.Com t-shirt which would be a great prop to bring with me! ;-)

Major Attitude: Good response ... but (take this the right way) perhaps a bit long - I woulda just said "Because Hulkster you are a Griswold!" - 'nuff said! ;-)
