Chrome Comes Up With Black Frowny Faces

I am running Chrome on Windows 10. Today nothing works. It comes up with a black frowny face on the tab.
I tried everything recommended on the internet. Changing name, changing paths, even deleting and reinstalling. The Google Chrome forum is no help.
Any suggestions?
Edge works fine. I am willing to abandon Chrome and go to Edge as a last resort, but would like to get my favorites off it. Since nothing works, the bookmark manager doesn't work either. They all show up, so there are there.
Any help would be appreciated.

Here's how you get to bookmarks, even if Chrome is not working.

You might be able to import them, even if Chrome isn't working.

Copy Chrome's bookmarks first so you have them in case something goes wrong when trying to import into Edge.
