CiD pop ups - can they be stopped please

Hi everyone,

my financee's PC seems to have become infected with some kind of adware or malware connected in some way to messenger live. It appears her kids have inadvertanly allowed this spawn of satan onto their machine and despite trawling the web I have not found a solution so far.

If anyone can help rid us of this pain please let me know. The machine is running on XP service pack 2 with AVG and ie version7. She is now a convert of Firefox but I cannot seem to rid the machine of either ie itself or this damned pop up plague!!!!!!!!!!
