Sorry, I disappeared before I saw your post. Haven't been around here much, but when I am, I seem to miss the old regulars. Have to admit it's been hard to be here without Gary around. I still half expect to see him lurking around.

Eric's doing good. His band still hasn't recorded, but supposedly they've booked time in the studio for Sept/Oct, so we'll see if it really pans out this time. Besides that, his latest project has been a tree house "for the kids" in Bushnell. It's HUGE! It's been a really fun project. It's 2 stories. There's a sleeping loft on the second floor with dormer windows. The first floor has a covered front porch. Really, I think Eric and I should move in and let the kids have the trailer! It's built with nearly all free and reclaimed wood. The only bought lumber is the 2x8s that support the base. We were able to use salvaged decking, redwood decking, even some IPE that someone gave us free on Craig's list. Our computer is down right now - the power supply started to smell funny and we didn't want it to self-destruct - (I'm on my laptop) so I can't get to the pics to post them, but it's pretty amazing. We still have to put the roof and walls up, but it's all framed out.

I've been having some fun adventures this year. I mentioned some of it in a post a while back that Boomer started when Wenchie started showing up again. I was an extra in a movie and that was fun and exciting. I've been exploring my hillbilly side. I have been shooting the raccoons in Bushnell for years (they're over populated and have become a nuisance, and occasionally diseased) but recently our friend, Rich told me that he wanted to skin the next raccoon I shot. I'm usually game for learning something new, so I watched and even helped out a bit. A month later, I shot a squirrel and skinned it all on my own! I salted and smoked the pelt and it turned out really nice. We've got a lot of friends who are into traveling and survival, so I've been learning whatever they'll teach. I made a fire from a flint and steel for the first time. It's like being a girl scout again! (Kodo, keep your sick jokes to yourself btw, I saw the pic of you and your boy - Man is he getting HUGE!! You both look great!)

I haven't gone all backwoods though. I've been going swing dancing regularly over the last year or so. There's quite the little scene here in Chicago. We're right down the street from the Green Mill Lounge and they've got a swing band that plays every week. Not that I go there that often. There's a free weekly dance at the University of Chicago that's nice. The dancers are all different levels and not snobby.

We never heard what happened to the shorts. I know they were making the rounds for a short time, but I don't know where they stopped. I shudder to think that someone, somewhere might actually be wearing them!

Who else is around? Anyone seen Bluesie? Goldfish? Slider? LLC? Swatshark? Dperino? We've kept in touch with Wenchie and Gottheit off the board over the years, but I'm not sure if there's anyone else we've kept up with.

Its great to hear y'all are doing good. Is Eric any good at building shops? i need about a 2car shop so i can restore that Charger out of the weather
