ClamWin AntiVirus Question...

I'm working on a friends laptop INFESTED w/ malware and viruses. It's messed
up to the point where many AV apps won't even finish the install process so I
need a good stand alone scanner/remover. I launched the portable ClamWin
AntiVirus from my USB 'pen' drive and it scanned just fine; it took about 4
hours to complete, but that's OK. BUT... Clam doesn't seem to have a removal
tool for the viruses it found (there was ALOT!). Why call it an 'AntiVirus' app
if it only scans and reports what was found without removing anything? The
AntiVirus name implies removal of found infections. Did I overlook something?
When the scan finished, I was presented with 2 options: Save Report and/or
Close the open window. I did save the report, but found nothing anywhere in
Clam to remove anything... What's Up?!?!? Looks like Clam has the potential
to be a great product if it only removed the infections it finds....

If your wanting to remove the malware from that PC do follow the below guide...

Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
