I currently have a Netgear Rangemax G router hardwired via ethernet to my PC, and I use the set up to wirelessly transmit videos to a video player connected to my home theater system. Now, I wanted to upgrade to a "N" router while keeping the same basic set up, so, I was looking at this:

However, this router does not have gigabit ethernet ports (only 100mb/sec), and I regularly download big video files from the internet. Does the lack of gigabit ports mean that my download speed will be limited to 100 mb/sec with the same set up? Please advise. Thank you.

How fast is your internet connection? Unless your internet pipe is greater than 100 megabits per second, the gigabit is only going to benefit you in transfers amongst machines on your local network anyway.

Thank you. That makes sense because my connection is only 20mb/s.
