We went through your clean me first before asking for help. We do have Norton Security and have had McAfee in the past. We started this because we were told that to allow our Microsoft Internet Explorer to run more than one screen, we should run the HiJack This. It always closes the screen it is in to open another one. We found a few little things and some cookies. Everything has been cleaned before the HiJack This. We have our logs and want to be sure to send them the correct way! We have not done the reboot thing yet, either.

    Thank you

    Welcome to MGs!

Attach the requested logs from step 6.

Also make sure you follow step 7 to properly install and run HijackThis and then attach your HijackThis log. You must make sure you are in normal boot mode when using HijackThis.

    Here they are!
We did run HiJack This in normal mode. On the Bd Scan and Active Scan, we deleted the files the programs could not going through Windows explorer and deleteing them!

Your logs do not show any malware problems. Could you explain more clearly exactly what your problem is.

We can only have one Microsoft Internet Explorer running at a time. When we are online and we need to go someplace else, internet explorer always closes where we are and opens a new one. If we try and open two, it always closes the old one to open a new one!

This is more than likely not an issue for the malware forum. Sounds like a configuration problem or a corruption of a registry setting. You could check out the below to see if it helps:

I think I lost my last message, sorry. We can only run one Microsoft Interenet Explorer at a time. If we are sent to another web address, it closes down the Explorer we are in and opens another. If we want to open two Internet Explorers, we can, it will always close one down before opening another.

I'm sorry, I thought I deleted the message and then discovered it didn't. I have been out and about between Microsoft and Dell. The only thing I can find so far is that we are missing a dll

    regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

Only I can't figure out how to get it back on without installing our service pack 2 all over again!

    I also went to http://support.dell.com/support/top...ent?dn=1070215&l=en&langid=1&c=us&cs=19&s=dhs
and they had some things I could try. I even tried to reinstall Service Pack 2, but that didn't work. Any other suggestions before I give up or decide to get drastic and reinstall Windows????

Before I forget, I really appreciate all your suggestions, we have been asking people about this problem for quite a while and nobody else even heard of it before!!!!

Still sounds to me like your problems are not malware related but rather something related to a registry setting ot a configuation issue somewhere.

You should try posting in the Software Forum.
