    Hi,

    AVG kept finding trajoan horse BHO.MJY in processes like svchost.exe

    I also ended up with antimalware doctor, and then at the same time all of this was occuring I started getting RUNDLL pop-ups saying "the specific module could not be found" "siqrhzdm.dll" and then later on for "sfgoijti.dll" as well. And I also got a message saying there was a hardware change and windows needs to be re-activated.. I had never seen it before but I followed it and re-activated. I installed some DDR RAM last month.. not sure how this all relates and if anything is to do with malware but just putting it out there. Also just remember I was getting a "just-in-time-debugger" pop-up, and it kept opening a script editor to fix scvhost.exe I believe. That stopped happening as well.

    Anyways, I ran all of the XP cleaning processes.. but after i finished combofix I had to take off for the weekend out of town, and just ran the remaining RR and MGtools when I got home, so there was a couple days in between finishing everything, so if that is a problem I will re-do everything. Anyways, logs are attached.

    I also ran SAS a number of times in the last week, so the most recent one I did in this process has no threats detected, so if you want to see what it removed previously, I can post those logs.

    I also received the 16 bit error message when running MGtools, and after the registry fix it continued to happen, so I just hit ignore, and it came back once more and I hit ignore again. Let me know if that's kosher.

    You are missing some files that I need to see. Did you wait for MGTools to finish running? Did you see the pop up to make the agreement to run HJT?

    Please download HelpAsst_mebroot_fix.exe and save it to your desktop.
    Close out all other open programs and windows.
    Double click the file to run it and follow any prompts.
    If the tool detects an mbr infection, please allow it to run mbr -f and shutdown your computer.
    Upon restarting, please wait about 5 minutes, click Start>Run and type the following bolded command, then hit Enter.

    helpasst -mbrt

    Make sure you leave a space between helpasst and -mbrt !
    When it completes, a log will open.
    Please post the contents of that log.

    *In the event the tool does not detect an mbr infection and completes, click Start>Run and type the following bolded command, then hit Enter.

    mbr -f

    Now, please do the Start>Run>mbr -f command a second time.
    Now shut down the computer (do not restart, but shut it down), wait a few minutes then start it back up.
    Give it about 5 minutes, then click Start>Run and type the following bolded command, then hit Enter.

    helpasst -mbrt

    Make sure you leave a space between helpasst and -mbrt !
    When it completes, a log will open.
    Please post the contents of that log.

    No matter what happens with the above, attach the above logs and then immediately continue with the below in normal boot mode!

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Still a little to clean up. Let's do this:

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::
    File::
    c:\windows\system32\dqrvifusqaligfn.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\$$$dq3e
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\$67we.$
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\mmw4
    C:\Documents and Settings\Donna\Local Settings\temp\208-1-2010-6-8-0-22-1-531
    C:\Documents and Settings\Donna\Local Settings\temp\3904-1-2010-6-7-4-30-9-546
    C:\Documents and Settings\Donna\Local Settings\temp\fla25.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Donna\Local Settings\temp\fla6.tmp

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run Ccleaner to clean out only temp files and nothing else!

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Alright, well my system has been running great since I ran helpasst mebroot. Everything was back up to speed and no problems yet.

    After I ran combofix and my computer rebooted and it was getting logs I got a prompt box stating the follow:

    "PEVcfxxe - application error

    the exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occured in the application at location 0x0044c2f9

    press OK to terminate
    Cancel to debug"

    the log still saved.

    Good to know!! If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
