CLI.EXE error then blue screen

Firstly, glad that you guys are so willing to help out on here. I am currently getting a CLI.EXE application error when booting up my system (Windows XP Professional - SP3) then the lovely blue screen. I have done a bit of background research and suspect it has something to do with my computer not having Microsoft .NET Framework installed. I tried installing this in Safe Mode (after enabling the installer) but continue getting an error that states "Microsoft .NET Framework SDK Setup failed." Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

do you know what the exact error code from the blue screen is? it's easier to search for it that way. It could be associated with .NET, but could also be something else that uses .NET that is crashing. I believe ATI drivers or a control panel associated with ATI uses .NET framework. As does alot of other things. have you updated anthing lately that could have caused this?

 

Thanks for your reply. The only things I have recently installed were Adobe Master Collection 5 and NAV; however, I did go through and remove several extraneous programs to clean up the drive so that may very well be where the problem stems from. The blue screen states that it is a "BAD_POOL_HEADER" and lists the technical information as "STOP: 0x00000019 (0x00000020, 0x84D10788, 0x84D107A0, 0x1A030001)."
