Clicksearchclick inferno

Trying to fix my brother-in-law's computer remotely to no avail. He has the famous clicksearchclick problem, which seems to render certain keywords as links, even outside of the browser. This is probably not the only problem--there are several suspicious things happening.

Problem is: I cannot install any antispyware or run any antivirus programs. Not a good situation.

Here's the hijackthis log. Any and all help appreciated!

I think its safe so say, you have a FEW problems!

Download LSP-Fix

After download is complete, Run LSP-Fix

Check the Box labeled "I know what I'm doing" and then click on the flsmngr.dll file (in the “Keep” section) to select it.

Then, Select the >> button to move flsmngr.dll into the Remove section.

Now, click the Finish Button. When the Repair Summary box appears, click OK.

(Note: If the file flsmngr.dll is already in the remove section, then just click FINISH.)


After you do the above, reboot into Safe Mode w/ Networking and run the online scans below:

TrendMicro Online Scan
Bitdefender online scan
RavAntivirus online scan <-- select Auto Clean then click Scan My PC
TrojanScan online scan


After you have completed the above, reboot and post a fresh HJT log as an attachment to your post.
