It's mid February and I have a mosquito the size of a chickadee on my wall.

I'm afraid to kill it in case it's already eaten. I don't want to re-decorate.

West Nile arrives early to BC. Better down there than up here! We won't see mosquitos 'til May, or June if we're lucky.

I used to kill skeeters when I was a kid that were the size of my palm.. when I moved to central NY and saw what they called mosquitos, I laughed.

Yeah, I knew that from previous postings. I'm up in the East Kootenays. We were expecting West Nile last Summer but it never made it over the Mountains. Now they say it will come up from Washington or Idaho.

Foothills of the Rockies. Lovely place. I get to Skookumchuck to visit the pulp mill every now and then.

That's an understatement if I've ever heard one.

I lived in Radium/Invermere for 7 years before moving to Creston, so I went through Skookumchuk a fair amount...That is the most foul smelling place I know...It's almost as bad as the fishing villages out on the east coast where I grew up.
