Hello. I posted this in the "software" forum, but was advised to post here, as you are more familiar with processes. I would appreciate it if anyone could offer any input on the system process that runs at startup on my system called "CLIStart" CLIStart.exe by ATI. It is from my video card (X800 GTO) and is probably from the latest version of catalyst, but I don't know exactly what it does. I have had shutdown problems that hangs on windows shut down blue screen and I read that one guy tracked a similar problem to a bug in that file/process. Question is: what does it do, is it important for function of ATI video card, and can I safely disable it and not have it run at startup? Any input or info. on the process is greatly appreciated.

Sorry but actually they were incorrect in sending you to the malware forum. This is not a malware related process. It is associated with ATI's Catalystâ„¢ Control Center for their graphics cards. I don't have any information on exactly what its purpose is but I would assume it is for tweaking and setting up configurations with your graphics card. If it is loading at startup, you could try temporarily disabling it from loading using MSconfig as a test to see if it cures your problems.

Either way, this is not a topic for the malware forum.
