Clone w2k Server

Hi Guys i have a 5 Year old server with 1 (9 gig scsi drive) and it has windows 2000 server installed.
The drive is partitioned into 2 equal sizes so what i am looking to do is keep all the info (setup) and clone it onto 1 40gig IDE drive.
I have tryed to clone the drives with norton ghost 2003 but when i try to boot of the IDE drive it hangs half way through the boot up.
Is there any other software i could use to clone the drives or is there a system file on the IDE drive that would need to be changed because i am cloning from scsi to IDE.

The HAL is different.. Clone your drive and run a repair on the OS. It's looking to boot off a scsi device .

 

I have tryed the system repair but when it has finished copying the system files and restarts it says insert boot disc and if the it was looking for a boot file.
The machine itself i have to use 4 boot discs to boot into windows 2000 server as the machine doesn't boot from the cdrom.

I have tried fixboot and fixmbr.

What i tried tonight was to do i fresh install of windows 2000 server on a new ide hardrive but the instalation goes through the first stage of copying the system files reboots and says invalid boot drive.
The server is dell and on the scsi drive there is 3 partitions.
The first partition is 16mb which is for the dell diagnostics at boot up.
The second partition is the boot partition.
The third is for files, backups.

 

would by chance be formatting the drive with a WinME boot disk?

 

I am installing with the windows 2000 server disk so it formats.

The motherboard is a dell poweredge 1400
