    Hi

    Question to closed topic " Microsoft search enhancement pack folder "

    I to have this same issue and from the above closed topic I note the registry code msiexec /x {A853BEB2-B270-4645-AAAA-9D83C2233BD3} is different from the one in the link to " Aaron " thread msiexec /x {8FFC5648-FAF8-43A3-BC8F-42BA1E275C4E}
    I'm using "Windows XP Professional" and I don't want to mess about with the Registry "Bill Gates" software is enough of a head ache without adding to it.
    By the way I too said no to all the add on "Tool Bar" etc and have been stuck with the same folder opening on start up ever since. Also could this be the reason why since this last up-date my PC freezes before it gets to the log-on-screen on start 3 or 4 times out of 10

    Regards

    Hi

    These are not registry entries (ok in part they are) they are the location of the uninstaller for some MS apps that are bundled with others, the code in the {} can change for different versions of the applications, so may not be the same,

    Yes run both as per that thread you linked too and follow what Dakotasbabe did in post #5

    Your PC freeze maybe this folder but also may not be, but remove the Search Pack and the ChoiceGuard and reboot and see, also do the cleanup steps I mentioned in that thread too with CCleaner and latest version is here

    Hi

    I've got the latest version CCleaner from your link, and thought I had remember what to. I put all cookies into the save cookie side and left the ones not wanted to be deleted. I also left all the other options as they came, perhaps now I should have turned them all off; as after I ran CCleaner, I now have to sign in here all the other forums that I visit even my "My MSN" home page. I thought logging into places like here were cookie that are saved on my PC so I'm at a loss why this has happened, may have been why I stopped using it as it was too aggressive for my needs; as I'm the only user on this PC.

    Hi

    CCleaner is one of the less aggressive cleaners but yes it will remove cookies and that will force you to re-log into any sites you auto login to, I always login (yes a lot of passwords to remember) to any sites as its the safest option, even do this on my home PC, force of habbit I guess.

    But CCleaner is a good cleaner and all you need to do to preserve cookies is to disable (untick) its cookies option in Cleaner > Windows tab and you'll be ok.

    Thanks for that bit of advice, I've sorted that and will clear them out once a month. That should sort me out.
