My sister is concerned because she just found out the Cloud can be hacked, so I thought I would ask
the experts. If I backup to the cloud and don't care if others get my information (because I won't back up
personal information), do I need to worry? My only concern is whether my data will remain safe.
Aren't cloud hackers just just interested in hacking the cloud companies to mine personal data, and are not interested in destroying a particular individuals data?

Cloud storage is run and secured by businesses that operate it - Google. Microsoft, Dropbox and others. What hackers would do with the information if they hack those servers your guess is as good as anyone else's.

The answer to your question is no. Hackers come in a full spectrum of varieties. Some just look, some manipulate programs or data, and some destroy anything.

It's a simple combination of both the above answers. The only ones that know the intentions of the hackers are the hackers. ;)
