I have a computer that runs XP MCE. I recently replaced a bad motherboard, cpu, and ram due to a power surge. After doing an OS repair, I can't get to the web. Network Connections shows my LAN icon & says it's connected. I check ipconfig in a cmd prompt & all I get is "Windows IP Configuration" with nothing else. It seems I'm missing a service or something. I tried restarting DHCP already. Can anyone here help?

Have you installed all of the drivers for the new motherboard? chipset, lan, etc?

is a new install out of the question? seems to me, a mobo replacement would be a good reason to reinstall completely, as issues like this always seem to happen.

    Solution found...

All the drivers were installed. I just remembered some commands an old friend told me to run:

    ipconfig /flushdns
    netsh interface ip delete arpcache
    netsh int ip reset c:\log.txt
    winsock reset catalog

After rebooting, everything is OK now. One or more of these commands did the trick. Thanks for your reply!
