My cmos clock keeps loosing time, several hours a day.
I replaced the cmos battery, removed the reset cmos jumper and then reset everything in the cmos, ZERO, ZIP NADA nothing improves.
Several things result in the cmos clock being wrong, all my emails in my sent box have incorect times on them, newly created files have the wrong time stamp etc.
HELP PLEASE, MY CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS IS mark2k8@world-net.net

Why do you think it is the CMOS? Is this system not running an OS?
If you change the clock in XP for example it sets the CMOS clock to the same setting.

Yeah, I had that same thing, and I too, have always known that the cmos clock is the *main* indicator of a faulty c-mos(ram, kind-of) battery, and it it's been a few years, I would do just what you did, then--u know--go to bios, cmos, then reset the clock of course, and if I read your post correctly, you already set all that, did it, *then* I would--as jconstan said, start double-checking all my *os* settings, u know, to make sure I have the correct settings, and not have it set to some weird internet clock--not that there's anything *wrong* with that :-D --but just to say, that it seems that you have *eliminated* it being in cmos, and yep, somewhere in the OS ... unless you are one of those horribly cursed people--like me--who think they could get *two* bad batteries...;)

Anyway, best wishes: I know cmos settings can so irritating at times, and once I had to just set everything to default, and reset clock, everything, just to get it to *boot* right, and damned if I know what it was as I'd spent more times in those settings 'til I had'm all memorized...but anyway: good luck

    Hi Boo,

No PC CMOS clock is accurate. The makers no longer trim the oscillator for accuracy. I never saw one that bad, but you are probably stuck with it. I use a little DOS program called Fixclock that adds a user specified time to the CMOS clock each day. It keeps it pretty accurate. The CMOS sets the PC time on each boot up, so the inaccuracy remains. There are many free programs for download that will get the time off the internet at specified intervals. That may be your best bet.

    Luck, Jim
