codec help

hey guys ,

i had storm codec 5 installed on my laptop and then uninstalled thinking i didnt need it,so you guessed it i do need it but now it seems to be giving me problems like strange pop ups saying i have effected the "string command" od another prog which uses codecs

so now i think im going to uninstall storm codec 5 and im just wondering as i have pretty basic knowledge of codecs etc what do ye guys think is the best/reliable codec package

Another possiblility is the COmmunity Codec Pack. Do a google search for it.

shark do you know if the vista codec pack will install smoothly after i uninstall storm codec 5 , i.e is there anything you reccommend i do before i install vcp
