Mornings are bad enough without having to pass on the coffee... I'm about to have mine now. Mmmmmmm.

 

And so it was that the young warriors known as Mimsy and Motc7 refreshed themselves with the nectar of life that is known as the Infusion de Folgers, before heading out on yon quest.

 

You mean there are people who start their day without coffee? :-D

 

Us Europeans start the day with tea.
My first cup of the day is tea but my wife likes coffee so i brew a pot for her and my second cup of the day is coffee.

 

Do you speak for all of Europe or just Belgium?

BTW, how is Jean Claude Van Damme doing these days?

 

Not seen Jean Caude for a while, He got married a couple of years ago and he came back to his home town for the wedding, Just 1 mile from where i live, the town was completely blocked.

As for the tea thing, I am English born so it's inbred that we drink tea.

 

Tea - Earl Grey, followed by a receptacle of Harris Espresso.:yum

 

So many ways I could go with the inbred thing..lol

 

I missed the other coffee thread, yeah I have one or two in the morning ATM I like light to medium roasted Columbian coffee I only get beans now and grind them myself,I think once you become a bean grinder your one for life! Pre ground coffee becomes only one up from in instant,I currently use a 15bar espresso machine and I think the coffee I make is called cafe latte but I'm not sure.

Coffee in the morning has become like a ritual to me this is how it goes,

Get up turn the coffee machine on,check water level,clean yesterdays solidified coffee out of the filter into the bin,clean the metal filter,fill cup to the top of the scoop on my teaspoon with milk and put some sugar in then blast the milk with steam until the machine runs out.

I then measure out the coffee beans with a plastic measuring spoon I got from washing powder and put them in my grinder,the coffee machine has now built up more steam so I blast the milk again until its frothy and red hot.

This is the most crucial part GRIND TIME and I leave until almost the exact moment the coffee is ready to be made as soon as the beans have been ground they start losing flavour 'IMO' I then grind the beans for 18 seconds :-D and use the flashing counter on the microwave to count any less and there won't be as much flavour in the coffee,any more and the machine doesn't have the pressure to pump the water through it starts making funny noises and sounds like its dying :-D and I have to clean it out start over'

Then drink while logging into MG:cool

 

No way!! having to constantly provide Tea for the mother and coffee for the father as a youth was mentally scarring (any physically on occasion) I won't touch either of them uke

 

I am an American, tea goes into the harbor, coffee goes in the mug. :-D:-D Sorry about your past inbreeding problem(s).

I don't have an espresso machine with steam attachment like he does (I did, but the steam pipe drew in some milk through inverted laws of physics, and started growing unsanitary things. So now I have a French Press and I have one of these:

Mine is small and makes two espresso cups of, yes, espresso. Mmmmmm!

roflmao Does anyone else believe the philosophy that the faster you get the beans roasted the better the coffee tastes? I seriously believe it IMO pre ground coffee starts tasting worse just days after you open it even if you refrigerate it,beans are much more resilient but still after a few days in the cupboard it doesn't taste as good.

I believe with all my heart if you roasted the beans then within seconds ground them and made coffee it would be the best coffee you ever tasted.

In fact I think the best coffee would be if you grew the beans yourself and roasted them at home,I'll have a go when global warming kicks in and it gets warmer over here:drool
