Probably most of you Americans know about your history but wanted to share this with you and perhaps the ones not residing in the USA who may not know most of the below. This a period of politics for the USA. Let's have a look at the past for a moment. So here it goes:

"Abraham Lincoln was elected as a member of congress in 1846.
JF Kennedy was elected as a member of congress in 1946

Abraham Lincoln became president in 1860
JF Kennedy became president in 1960

The surnames of Lincoln and Kennedy consist of 7 letters.

Both were very dedicated to human rights.

The spouses of both presidents lost a child while in the White House.

Both presidents were shot by a bullet through their heads.

Both presidents died on a Friday.

    Lincoln's secretary's surname was Kennedy.
    JFK's secretary's surname was Lincoln.

Both presidents were assassinated by southerners.
Both presidents were succeeded by southerners.

The name of both successors consisted of 7 letters, both surnames were Johnson.
Andrew Johnson who succeeded Lincoln was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson who succeeded JFK was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth who assassinated Lincoln was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald who assassinated JFK was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known to carry 3 names.
Total of letters of both their 3 names were 15.

Lincoln died in a theater with the name "Kennedy"
Kennedy died in a limousine named "Lincoln" ........................(I don't think so)

John Wilkes Booth tried to escape from a theater and was caught in a multistory building.
Lee Harvey Oswald tried to escape from a multistory building and was caught in a theater.
Booth and Oswald were killed before their trial.

One week prior to Lincoln's death, he was in Lincoln on holidays in Monroe, Maryland.
One week prior to Kennedy's death, he was on holidays with Marilyn Monroe.

    All coincidence??????"

PS: (Don't know if all of the above is exactly true to the letter, I've just translated it ;) )

No such a thing as Coincidence ;) Henry Ziegland thought he had dodged fate. In 1883, he broke off a relationship with his girlfriend who, out of distress, committed suicide. The girl's brother was so enraged that he hunted down Ziegland and shot him. The brother, believing he had killed Ziegland, then turned his gun on himself and took his own life. But Ziegland had not been killed. The bullet, in fact, had only grazed his face and then lodged in a tree. Ziegland surely thought himself a lucky man. Some years later, however, Ziegland decided to cut down the large tree, which still had the bullet in it. The task seemed so formidable that he decided to blow it up with a few sticks of dynamite. The explosion propelled the bullet into Ziegland's head, killing him.

Coincidence it is.:) Life is full of them and if we analyze any situation or event that peaks our interest we can find similarities. Sometimes it makes an interesting discussion but on the other hand, when you run into people (like in some of the spam I get) who purport that everything they see or read on the net is gospel...well, it just gets ridiculous IMO.

    Have a look here.

I think people that go making comparisons like that to prove a point are just... well they need a life. Not you, Oma, you didn't write that so don't think i mean you, but whoever did. It's like watching the movie 23. Anyone ever see that movie? How everything in life revolves around the number 23, and where it didn't fit it was stretched to make it work, thus concluding that 23 the basis of everything. I mean.. I think if you go looking for comparisons you often find them - end story.

Now, that Henry Ziegland story... if thats true that's pretty messed up. That would be a classic example of irony.

As you can see I used the end "quote" at the end where the translation ended, the same when I started the "quote" at the beginning of the article. Therefore, *I* didn't write it, I just translated everything.

Doesn't mean that I believe everything what is written, said or heard. One of my favorite sayings is: whatever you hear don't believe it; what you see, believe half of it. ;)

As I wrote in the original post, I just translated it.

Personally, I do believe that some things are not coincidental, a few of my life experiences prove that.
