Buddy of mine says the tips are very brittle and break easily. He called the company to ask about this and they blew him off. The tips are 10 bucks a pop. Think Im going to pass on this.

Well, the tip looks like its a very complicated alloy... which conducts heat away faster than copper (wow), into another very complicated alloy heatsink, which must radiate heat away faster than aluminium.

All in all, muchos dolores! Plus if you get the tiniest of a crack in the tip, even one you couldn't see, it would seriously impair the capacity to conduct the heat away.

I leant on a 20W soldering iron the other day. Owww.... got a nice blister though... it popped and now its healing well ;) But crap did that hurt. I'm glad ive never burnt myself on the tip of my 100W equivilant Weller gas iron!!!

I recieved one as a gift, works as advertised just fine. As long as you aren't doing anything too heavy duty with it as the tip is a bit flimsy. I used it to pop the chip off an old Saitek wheel so that Winxp would recognize it.
