I guess we (or most of us) have this problem.

I've upgraded from DOS, Win 95, Win 98SE, to XP, to Vista, to Windows 7 and from various capacity Hard drives to the latest, fastest, biggest (whatever applies) capacity Hard drives over the years, and now I want to re-format 2 of those 2.5" drives.

I'd like to keep this info on a 2TB, or 3TB external drive for posterity. :-D
How is the best way to tackle this?

I already have a DIGITECH Dual HDD 2.5" USB2.0 DOCKing station, in use at the moment. (see thumbnail for similar device)

I've put this thread in the Software Forum because it is the contents of these drives that I want to shift.:)

Should I simply partition the external 2TB, or 3TB drive, and then copy each smaller capacity drive contents to a partition on the new drive?
    All suggestions/procedures/tips/tricks/traps very welcome.:)

Sounds like you already have the answer.

Don't forget to convert, or pick FAT.
