    You have all the logs?

    Then I would like to see logs from
    • MalwareBytes
    • SUPERantispyware
    • Combofix
    • MGTools
    • Rootrepeal (unless on 64 bit)

    These are the procedures you should be following, I'll post for reference.

    C:\Program Files\Malbytes' Anti-Malware <--- Did you rename this folder? It should be Malware Bytes not Malbytes'...

    C:\EPSON\Spybot - Search & Destroy 2\SDHelper.dll <--- Why is this running from an EPSON folder???

    c:\documents and settings\Rob\My Documents\Downloads\ComboFix.exe <--- You need to move this to your desktop before we continue!!

    Now we need to use ComboFix by sUBs

    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box. Ensure you scroll down to select ALL the lines:
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    NetSvc::
    dzecroh

    Driver::
    dzecroh

    File::
    c:\windows\system32\vpfzfxem.dll.old

    Folder::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Rob\Local Settings\Application Data\AskToolbar

    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet004\Services\dzecroh]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43}]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{DBC80044-A445-435b-BC74-9C25C1C588A9}]

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    If after running Combofix you discover none of your programs will open up, and you recieve the following error: "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion". Then the answer is to REBOOT the machine, and all will be corrected.

    I want you to run TDSSKiller so refer to the below for how to do so.

    TDSSkiller - How to run

    Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop
    • Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
    • It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
      • Done! Press ENTER to exit...
    • Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
      • Found non-standard or infected MBR.
      • Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:
    • Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
    • MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.
    • Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!
    • Answer any questions I asked.

    H,

    When I copied the cfscript.txt and went to save it for encoding do I select ansi? Unicode? unicode big endian ? or utf-8 which one do I choose ? and yes I did change the name of the malbytes and i did save the spybot in the epson folder which is empty. Combofix is moved to my desktop as well.

    Thanks

    when I drag and drop the cfscript.txt into combo fix I am not sure it takes because it still shows on my desktop. and Combo-fix wants to start.

    Correct, this is normal. Let ComboFix launch. Just make sure you dragged the CFScript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe first, then release the left-mouse clicker so ComboFix does launch.

    Update :

    CD and DVD drives are back using a fix from dougknox.com still missing the advanced video utility and system restore is still creating restore points and when I launch system restore it shows as running in my task manager but the restore screen never shows up on the desktop. The PC seems to be running fine no problems not sure what combo - fix did,,,, when I run malware bytes it still says no infections

    Delete this folder if it exists:
    c:\program files\Ask.com

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required (If we renamed it please rename it back to Combofix.exe.
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Hmm, follow the instructions in this link and let me know how you get on. How to start the System Restore tool by using the safe mode option with the Command prompt in Windows XP
    • Does this now bring up System Restore for you?
    • Tell me more about what you mean by "It does not show in my window screen"

    SystemLook

    Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
    Download Mirror #1
    Download Mirror #2

    • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
    • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:
      Code:
      :filefind
      rstrui.exe

    • Click the Look button to start the scan.
    • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
    Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

    This is a fix to sort out the system restore issue. Are you able to do this?

    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Fcopy::
    C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\rstrui.exe | C:\Windows\System32\rstrui.exe

    This is just part of combofix I believe.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Hi Thanks for all of your help.

    I ran Combo Fix and Mg Tools as directed .

    Combo fix rebooted itself

    Opened on my desk on produced the log was still left with a blank screen and after 15 minutes I had to use task manager to restart the system in safe mode. ( idid notice this in the thask manager under processes running i never saw before " CF26245.exe" assuming that was combo fix)

    Where I produced the MG Tools log which took a very long time to produce

    Still Have initial problem my desktop does not start up immediatly
    take "forever" to load at least 10 minutes and when desktop does load with the task
    bar and icons every thing is very slow to open or launch and will freeze
    it does it locks up This happenned after trying to install google video chat.
    I could not load the program kept getting and error of 1603.
    I rebooted the machine and when I did The avg window came up with TR/Crypt.xpack gen.
    I tried to do a system restore does not launch if I do it from the EXE it will
    show a blank screen.

    I hope this helps I did disable avg but I noticed on the log it said some parts were running .....I was unable to uninstall avg or I would have.

    I know this may be frustrating to you trying to help. Can you please stay and help and explain what I need to tell the software folks. My comp was running pretty well with your fixes to this point.............It is still a malware issue or trojan as it has reverted back. Malware has caused my desktop to disappear We never cleared or removed a malware or trojan. Should I do a system restore to see if that works ? I am at a loss because I ran these programs that were suggested. I know your helping and I appreciate that............If I was not on dire need I would have paid to have someone help. This is not a software issue it is malware or virus :)

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hi,

    After you gave me system restor back. I restored to an earlier point. The desktop came back and full function.....Though I no longer have sytem restore when i launch it. I did the cfscript again........ This time when combo fix launched it said searching for update then it said 2012-02-10 combofix has expired

    Click yes to run in reduced mode or no to exit and I exited .

    What do you think ?

  28. Kestrel13!

    Kestrel13! Super Malware Fighter - Major Dilemma Staff Member

    I got rid of any traces of malware that I could see in my first combofix script. Other issues that remained seemed non malware related to me. Look, if you have system restored, I suggest you run the whole malware removal procedure from scratch. Attach logs and I will see if any malware remains. If I cannot see any malware then I shall have to send you off to the software forum as explained. :)

    Ok last issues I think! Crossing fingers I cannot load any programs that require windows installer.

    I ran every program you requested from the beginning. I did have a couple of issues .

    The first was when I ran combo fix the update failed, it said to click yes in reduced mode I did the program closed and the combofix icon from my desk top (safe mode) disappeared. and could not be found anywhere. Performed a system search.

    Then this box appeared Abobe acrobat Professional 8.1.0 cannot be launched at this time you must launch another suite component before launching Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0.

    I do not have Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.1.0 I do have Adobe Acrobat Professional 8. I closed this box in my task manager.

    I went and downloaded another copy of Combo fix from "Major geeks" it started and ran about mid way I think it was stage 30 and a box appeared

    PEV.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close ....

    I left it alone and let combofix complete its actions. I have system restore again ! Last program I ran was Kaspersky TDSSKILLER in Safe Mode after the program completed. Again this box opened up "Abobe acrobat Professional 8.1.0 cannot be launched at this time you must launch another suite component before launching. I closed this box in my task manager."

    The machine works well better than before.

    One more concern in Spybot and CCleaner it shows very different start up modes The C Cleaner does match what is in MSConfig I included these logs as well . I have included 11 logs in all and are in the three previous posts to this post. Thanks again.
