combofix finds non-existent avg & stops

I am having a strange issue.
I have used all the tools to remove malware correctly.
when I run combofix message states: combofix will not run because avg interferes etc, etc and shuts down.

I had allready uninstalled Avg, run Avg removal tool and checked registry entries to make sure avg is gone.

is driving me crazy. all the guy had was MS Removal Tool malware.
anybody got any hints? Oh it's vista on a Toshiba lappy.:confused

I already ran all the tools per instructions in the removal guide.

combofix was the last step.
all the other tools say the system is clean.
Malwarebytes runs without finding anything.
I think we can call this a wrap, put the combofix thing down to registry error and move on.
I have installed Microsoft security essentials, ran it and all is well.

I ran all the tools per the removal guide first.
the combofix thing had me stumped.
I re-ran all the tools and they all come up clean.
I figure it's a registry error with avg.
I installed and ran MS security essentials and it came up clean.

So I think I will count this one as clean.
