I have been having problems with my computer, and was directed to the Read & Run Me First thread.

I ran the SuperantiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scans, as well, but neither turned up any infected files. I have the logs saved somewhere, but can't find them at the moment so they are not attached. If they are needed, just let me know and i can dig them up.

If there is anything I need to do, please let me know. Thank you very much in advance.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You need finish following ALL of the instructions in the READ & RUN ME and you must attach the logs from the below tools as requested ( whether anything is found or not ):
    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes
    • RootRepeal
    • MGtools
Also you need to tell us exactly what problems you are having? Why do you think you have malware problems? Based solely on your ComboFix log and the fact that you stated SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes found nothing, it does not appear that you are having malware problems, however it would be best to see the rest of the logs and know what problems you are having before making a final decision.

I attached the other logs as well.

My computer had been running slowly, shutting off randomly, freezing, etc. Sometimes it runs flawlessly, other times it is terrible. It is a fairly new laptop, less than 1 year old.

I ran a scan with Microsoft security essentials, found and removed several viruses (java exploits and win32 exploit). I googled them, reinstalled Java and Adobe, and thought everything was OK. I still had problems, was directed to this site, and decided to follow the instructions in that thread.

I spoke to an HP employee regarding my problems, and followed his instructions in testing my hard drive, updating BIOS, etc. No problems were found with my hard drive, and nothing else helped.

The freezing, and shutting off seem to be more prevalent while the laptop is unplugged. My computer is still under warranty, but HP said that since the hard drive test didn't turn up any problems, it had to be a virus. They will not replace it as of now.

Still not looking like malware as these logs are clean. Do you have the log from RootRepeal?

Also run the below as a extra test.

Download TDSSKiller from Kaspersky to your directly onto your Desktop
    • Now double click the TDSSkiller.exe file to run it ( if using Vista or Windows 7 do not double click on it but rather, right click and select Run As Administrartor. )
    • If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it. To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123tdk.com).
    • Allow the application to run if prompted by Windows or any security programs you have installed
    • It will start the scan and run rather quickly and will notify you of whether anything is found or not.
    • Follow the instructions to delete/quarantine if asks you what to do when if finds something.
    • Whether an infection is found or not, a log file should be created on your C: drive ( or whatever drive you boot from) in the root folder named something like TDSSKiller.2.1.1_27.12.2009_14.17.04_log.txt which is based on the program version # and date and time run. Please attach this log to your next reply. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post )
