Combofix query copied from another thread

    Sorry.....posted this in the wrong place....

    I have a new query....sorry...decided to clean up XP as per the other thread here

    Going well, but have stalled as I don't have the XP disc (and it may not be a legit copy) in order to get XP Recovery Console. The link to download it via bleepingcomputer doesn't seem to take me to the right place. Can I get it from anyone on here? I take it I shouldn't run Combofix without it.

    I don't know what you mean. It works just fine.

    You can run ComboFix without it but it is good if you can get the Recovery Console installed first. If however you are using an illegal copy of Windows, you may not even be able to get the Recovery Console to install.
