ComboFix

Had SystemFix which I did not know. During normal malware removal, my combofix kinda hung up. After finally getting the program to remove it, I went back and went through the normal cleaning process.
Until I ran combofix...and the screensaver kicked on and it froze up the computer. Not sure if it was the screensaver or my previous attempt when System Fix had my comp in its clutches. I tried running Combofix 2 more times, but it just hangs up. I turn the computer off and back on and it is fine, but I am trying to get combofix to run properly.

Any suggestions or ideas?

 

I installed Avast virus software prior to your post and this message pops up on computer start asking if I should allow it to run, put it in sandbox, etc. I say not to run it.

Weird, not sure if I should be concerned or not.

Should I disregard and just go forward with your suggestion? Or is something not quite right here?

yep, when system fix popped up during malware removal, I realized it was not going away, I looked it up on the forums - and the fix was in. It required its own tool for removal. After I finished cleaning it up, I went ahead and did the normal malware removal as per the guide. That is when combo fix was hanging up on me. It doesn't hang up on me now, although I won't use since I readded my anti-virus software.
