comdodo firewall

    Hi to everyone!!!

    I just installed comodor pro firewall....i scanned the pc with comodo firewall pro...and detected a threat called : nti.T_Online_install(ID = 0x1ff85) C:\Program Files\Sony\MyInfoCentre\ISP\ISP016\T-Online\cdstar

    is it something to worry about?...thanks for your help

    Sounds like a false positive to me. I would ignore it.

    Thanks Chaslang....also when i run spybot search & destroy it sticks on virtumonde.dll and zlob downloader.bs why is that? may i get rid of them? thanks.

    If you are referring to what you see at the bottom of the Spybot window, that is what it is scanning for. It is not what it is detecting. Spybot does seem to hang for periods during the scan since there can be a lot to look for. How long are you waiting? Just give it alot more time and see if the scan finishes. If it still hangs/will not continue, Go to Advanced Mode and expand the Settings entry in the left columm. Find Ignore Products. Find the virtumonde.dll entry (there are 3 of them). Place a check in the box for the one matching where you hang. Spybot-SD will now ignore this "entry" in future scans.

    Are you using the latest version of Spybot? The latest version is 1.5.2.20.

    Hi Chaslang

    i have uninstalled spybot-sd and installed the version 1.6.0.....it still hang on virtumonde.dll
    but not more than 10 minutes....and managed to do the scan ....thanks Chaslang for your suggestions though

    Quite typical since there are many many forms of vundo that it is scanning for. I would not worry about it. They work around is what I gave you but doing that obviously defeats the purpose of the scan. This is also not a big deal since Spybot is quite infective against Virtumonde anyway.
