I see that Comodo has released BOClean. It's a new download on the MG front page and in the Antispyware section. Anyway, my question is this: Does BOClean actually scan for and remove malware? Or is it only for real time active protection? I ran it, but couldn't find a way to scan. Unless it does it automatically in the background w/o notifying the user, I see no way to initiate a scan. Hopefully someone out there is familiar w/ this new release and can shed some light on this for me. I've always been a fan of Comodo software, and BOClean looks like another quality app to add to my collection.

BTW- not really important, but what does BO stand for anyway? It can't possibly mean what we normally think BO means, can it??? ;)

I havent gotten around to using it yet.. but in the description, it says it scans in the background.. It can also be set up as "run once" for scan on demand..

I tried it..found no scan buttons...and found it incompatible with my K-Meleon browser. Had to do a complete reinstall of the browser. At least, I think that is what did it...browser was fine until the Comodo install!

Yeah, I read that in the description too. When I installed it, I just clicked next, next, next, next, without reading what was on the screen (I know, not always a good idea ;) ).... and I didn't spend alot of time playing around with it.. I'll mess with it some more. But if someone knows the answer to my first post, please enlighten me! It appears that BOClean was previously available from a company called 'NS Services' (?? I think ??) as a paid product and it had quite a large, happy user base; then Comodo bought 'em out, and now BOClean is freeware :D

    Musk,

I haven't had any problems with K-Meleon being incompatible. Do you have the K-Meleon pre-loader running? Some AV and spyware programs find the pre-loader as Malware but it's a false positive. :D

Thanks, yes, I do have it running. I think I will try installing it again without the pre-loader and see. Gonna save the extra code first, THIS time. I was getting an error message saying something about K-Meleon being shut down wrongly? and to see my application manager.
