    Hey,

I installed Comodo firewall on my computer, but when I tried to run it it came up with this error message:

    Critical Error!
Comodo Firewall Pro does not seem to be started or installed properly.
Do you want to start diagnostics utility to fix the problem?

When I click yes, it doesn't do anything. I've tried to uninstall it and then re-install it but it doesn't do anything when I try to uninstall it either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry Steve, but your proceedure didn't work for me. It has left behind entries in the Registry that convince the Windows Security Center that I stll have comodo as my active Firewall.

Read my thread (#149893), referred to in an earlier post in this thread to see what I have gone through. :cry :( Bazza

No anti-Comodo propaganda bandwagon. I did like Comodo.

I am just reporting my (and others) experiences, if you Google it.

I didn't like the version called "defense" or similar as the alerts drove me mad. They didn't seem to be "taking" or there were so many of them that I found it overwhelming. ZA learns, Comodo didn't seem to, IMO.

That is when I tried to uninstall Comodo and my problems began.
OP couldn't un-install it either. Bazza

This isn't the only forum I go to. I've encountered many people that have major problems with the latest version of Comodo firewall so I'm not just spouting something to hear myself speak.
I give the same advice to people having the same problems with the latest version of Adware (v2007). I do not feel it necessary each time I tell someone to remove troublesome software that quite a few other people are having problems to make my comment legitimate. Common sense says, if something free isn't working, don't waste time jumping through hoops to get it to work. See if there is something else that might work in it's place.

The OP tried to get the firewall to work by installing it, uninstalling it and re-installing it. None of that seemed to work. I told her what I'd tell anyone having a problem with any piece off software...remove it and try something else. The OP can decide if she wants to follow this advice or not.
