Hello, just got nice help in the malware section of this forum. My helper refered me to this section regarding this issue ;) :

When I connect to the Internet using Comodo Firewall, I get a message telling me that 'A new internet connection has been detected (is it home, office or public, etc.)'.

A second pop-up notifies me that I will be using an unsecured connection. Do I want to carry on without security or install some pay software.

This message started a week ago. Did not change anything to my connection (that I know of) and my connection is protected through WPA.

I am worried about my network security.

Just performed malware cleanup so machine should be clean, but I still get that message which I never saw before.

Any idea what the issue is?

    Thank you,

Just letting you know I seem to have found a workaround for my problem.

Initially, my SSID was set to not be broadcasted and I usually connected automatically through the "Favorite" connection pane.

I was having the Comodo "Unsecure" message.

What I did was: set SSID to broadcast. Delete the 'favorite' connection that was there, and I set my connection to connect manually only. This resolved the Comodo message issue.

Was it a bug, was my "favorite" connection an hijack, I'll probably never know, me not being an expert.

Probably has nothing to do with SSID being broadcast or not, because it was set not to broadcast in the past, and I didn't have that Comodo unsecure message.

This is not anything to worry about. Windows will do this too as soon as you install the LAN / wireless drivers for your computer for the first time.

Most likely something or someone refreshed the internet connection on the computer which prompted this message again.

This is what the comodo pop-up I was refering to looks like (see attached).

Verify that you are connecting to your own Wireless network.
Also double-check that you have password protected your wireless network

    Sorry for delay in communications.

My connection was indeed protected by a password, a NASA-length/complexity password :).

Howeverm I am convinced I was not connecting to my own network, but a network with same name broadcasted by bad person. Probably stronger than my own. And my computer preffered to connect to that one.

Since I reenabled SSID, as described before, and use manual connection, everything went back to normal.
