compaq power problems

    my compaq laptop all of a sudden dosn't come on. the power button lights up for a 1/2 sec and then nothing

    compaq presario r3000

    can anyone help?

    Could be a lot of things. Might be the A/C adapter, the battery, the power converter inside, the system board inside, etc.

    You should contact HP (who bought Compaq a few years back) or the retailler who sold you the laptop. Laptop hardware is all proprietary, and opening the case without express consent of HP will void your warranty.
