Compatibility: Netgear firewall + Linksys?

Hi guys, new to the forum

I'm looking to gain some more experience in the networking realm.

I was wondering if

NETGEAR FVS318 and have this setup:


Cable Modem to Netgear FVS318 firewall, then the firewall to a linksys wireless-G router.

Are these two proprietary pieces of hardware compatible together? Will my wireless still work?


Also if any of you have any recommendations of any other firewalls I could purchase to gain experience please let me know. This one seemed pretty cheap with some good introductory features I could try and mess with/tweak.
