Completed Malware Removal (Thankyou!), Some Remaining Issues

Hello All,

I am new to this virus thing but this website and forum has been extremly helpful and eye-opening! I followed the steps in the "Read&Run Me First" guide the best I could. The only item I could not complete was the Panda Scan as my Internet service has been cutting out over the last two days. I have attached the log files as requested. I will follow this post up with my attached Hijacker log which I installed and renamed per the guide.

The issue that seems to remain is that I am consistently getting pop-up adds in internet explorer with messgaes about running scripts. Also, the Counterspy found viruses and spyware and could not delete/ fix everything. Lastly, while the Panda Scan was able to run, it found 17 spyware hits. Can someone please assist me with completing the system disinfection? I already have about 6 hours into this so anyhelp would be appreciated.

I'm missing the Counterspy log. Please attach that. Also, I'd be grateful if you would attach the runkey, bdscan and the vundo fix logs rather than linking them.

You have an old version of Java Runtime. Please go to add/remove programs and uninstall:

-J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

If you had Counterspy fix everything it found and can post the logs to us, then you can uninstall it from your computer. Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall:

- Sunbelt CounterSpy


Then delete the below folders which may be left behind by the uninstall:

C:\Documents and Settings\kevinm.PRODC\Application Data\Sunbelt Software
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sunbelt Software
C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software

Hello Abri!

I'm not sure but it looks like you corrected my attachment mistake or am I misunderstanding your edit? Also, I should let you know, I ran another program called allscan (from another sticky in this forumn) and it appears all of my problems have been solved. I reran Counterspy and it came up with no bad files. The issue with that is I cannot figure out where the log would be as it does not give me that option and I have not located it by doing a search on the local drive. I would still like to know if there is anything I should remove from the registry or other locations so should I rerun and repost new hijack this logs along with others?

Hi Arcitek!

See if everything seems to be working over the next few days. If not, come back and post again in this thread with any new or renewed symptoms and we'll take up where you left off using the logs you already posted.
