Completely New to this and DESPERIATELY NEW HELP !!!

I am running Windows XP home.

I have a Acer Travelmate 2450

Now here's the problem.

Back in early march my laptop was working fine. Every program was running ok and FAST.

My ex girlfriend did something to the laptop ( deleted something of which I have no idea ) and now the laptop is extremely SLOW....

It takes for ever to load/start any program I have running, and my DVD burner now doesn't work.

It use to work perfectly until the dreaded "ex- screwed up my laptop day "

I have downloaded Highjackthis. and created a log file.

Does anyone no how I post this log file so someone can look it over and help me get the laptop running normal again?

Also with the DVD burner. I have done the Windows problem test file thingy... and every test says the burner is operating normally.

Yet !!! when ever I insert a commerial CD or even a BURNED cd of music or even a software cd and ANY cd all I hear is the whirlling sound and then nothing happens.

I have done the "options " thing when I right click the drive and told it to run automatically for what ever CD or DVD I put in the drive yet nothing happens.



I am so desperately in need of help.

I have no extra money to take it in to a computer store to have a proffesional look at it. This is why I have come to this forum.

Any ideas?
