COMPLETELY Removing a Program??

Ok, so I finally gave-up on the Comodo FW that I tried for several weeks (could not ever seem to get it "trained" to quit annoying me, seemingly, endlessly). I thought I had done EVERYTHING to completely remove this program (application - whatever), but now when I go into my Vista "Security Center:, it tells me that both Windows AND COMODO PRO are reporting that they are both "on". I have been having a number of issues with my mouse and keyboard freezing/pausing longer than normal (again, quite annoyingly). Can anyone please possibly assist me in removing this thing completely from my system, once and for all?

    Thanks,

What a nightmare ... This PC is about a month old - now this nonsense.

When I try (click on) the link > http://rapidshare.com/files/88891672...eaner.zip.html - I am informed: "File Not Found". I am so not interested in the brain squeeze that all this stuff requires. I'd just like my PC to be right.

Any other suggestions, or should I just continue with what appears to be two (2) Firewalls running, simultaneously?

    Thanks.

PS - I mean, I created a Restore point (that I am sure is now unneeded, and simply taking-up more space??), but as far as shutting-down "ALL unnecessary processes running in Task Manager" - how the heck do I know what is necessary and what is not necessary?? There simply HAS to be a more simple way to NOT have (I guess???) two firewalls running at the same time? Not to mention, there is nothing about "Comodo", unistall or otherwise, displayed in "Add/Remove Programs". I've purged everything (???) to do with Comodo, except that Comodo is showing in Windows Security Center - as "ON".

OK, that link does get me in (it works, thanks) - but then what sir please? Do I want to then go to (click on/open) the link displayed there > http://rapidshare.com/files/92026523/CFP3_File_Registry_Cleaner.zip - ?

Also, when you say "proceed now from step 5", am I then to type > "CFP3 File+Registry cleaner.bat" into the "Run" box?

    Thanks.

Sorry I don't understand this stuff - but I am here to learn.

    grc123,

I understand your frustration completely. I too recently downloaded Comdo Firewall Pro (version 3) and continue to find it quite confusing despite many hours of reviewing and studying all the tutorials, help pages, etc.

I'm going to hang with it for now...perhaps because I keep seeing postings here and on other forums that removing it can be a nightmare.

Unfortunately I can't offer any helpful advice for your current problem...but if this note of understanding lends any encouragement, then that's the spirit in which it is sent.

I'll continue to monitor this thread to see how things go.

Thanks for the support. I downloaded (unleashed) this 'Comodo Monster' on the suggestion/advice of a (well-meaning/well intentioned) member here, though I was 'warned' by another member, to "not" do it (and this second gentleman had helped me GREATLY in the past - and whose advice on this I should have also heeded).

I'm not certain if I actually have two active firewalls running or not - but this near-new PC IS experiencing performance issues - in spite of the fact that Vista's built-in "Reliability & Performance Monitor" is reporting a "9.58" rating (out of a possible "10") and, the "Security Center" of the PC is reporting two (2) firewalls as "On". Based on those two factors, I do fear (believe) that I do in fact have two FW's going at the same time ... and this on a PC that is one-month old. But again - how is one to be "certain", one way or the other???

I am out of work (= "no income"), am dealing with a great bit of physical pain - humiliatingly in the process of filing for social security disability, and really do NOT need any extra problems. I am almost sorry I ever found this site. But thank you just the same, again - very much.

Ok, question: Would not running this Comodo "file path" through "Pocket Killbox" or some other such "shredder", remove it from my PC?

    Thanks.

Does anyone ... ANYONE, know how I can turn-OFF a COMODO Firewall, that I've SUPPOSEDLY already ("COMPLETELY") removed from my PC?? Simply because I once installed and used this monster, Vista (STILL) reports that I have two - 2 FW's running, AND I'm having some erratic behavior from a PC that is ONLY about a month-and-a-half old, I have an unending HEADACHE from this. I need to LOSE THIS, THIS, "THING"!!! I can't seem to awake from the nightmare that it has become. I would just turn-off my Vista FW - BUT HOW DO I KNOW FOR SURE IF THE COMDO FW IS, IN FACT, ON/RUNNING???!!!???

A website called "Rapidshare" was suggested, but all I see there is info about "web hosting" ... can someone please help me with this?

    Thanks.
