Completely Uninstall Malwarebytes

I tried to uninstall Malwarebytes from my PC because I wanted a clean install of it. I used an uninstaller (Revo Uninstaller) to remove it from my PC. Revo said some files would only be removed after I restarted the PC. I restarted my PC and thought that meant I'd be free of Malwarebytes and could do a clean install.

Next, I downlaoded Malwarebytes from Majorgeeks and ran the installation process. After doing that I opened Malwarebytes to set the options I wanted only to receive the message that my free premium trial now only had one day left to run. That is what the version I thought I had uninstalled was saying. I do not want the premium version or a free trial of it. I just want the free version.

Obviously, my uninstall did not work because some remnants of the previous version must still be on my PC for it to say I have one day left of the free premium trial. Therefore, I would like to know if there is a method by which I can uninstall Malwarebytes; be confident it is no longer on my PC; then start from scratch as I want to do.

 

try ending your trial and it should change it to the free version without having to reinstall Malwarebytes.

We seem to have less and less control over our own computers these days

 

For future reference there is a Malwarebytes Cleanup Utility that will remove all (or almost all) traces of Malwarebytes.

If that doesn't fix your problem then run the more robust Malwarebytes Support Tool.
