computer beeping after processor installation

I've finally gotten around to swapping out my old processor for a working amd athlon 1.0 ghz processor, the old one died for some reason. Now after installing the new processor(then plugging the computer in and turning it on), it starts beeping at me, like this, beep...beep...beep, and there was no image on the monitor, as if it wasn't even plugged onto it. then I turned it off. There were about two seconds between each beep. Please, if anyone can tell me what's wrong with it, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks and later.

 

Go to your motherboards compagny using a friends computers if possible
and check for there BEEP codes on they're sites it will tell you what is wrong with your computer.....

Sometimes one has difficulty describing beep codes.

Check CPU if seated properly, did you use Thermal paste or pad? Was it applied correctly? Is cpu fan connected & running?
Check memory is it seated properly, have more than one stick? Try one, try different slots.
Check Video card, is it seated corectly?
Too be sure remove/reinstall.

 

cpu is seated properly, I used thermal paste(arctic silver 5), it is applied properly, and the cpu fan is running. I've yet to try the rest of your suggestions out, but will do soon. thanks for the contributions.

ps if the processor is overheating, what sound(s) will it make?
