Completed the Read & Run Me First procedures. Attached the following reports ConterSpy, Bitdefender, Panda Active Scan, Runkeys, Newfiles and HGJ log.

    PROBLEMS:

    (1) Downloaded Easyjob Resume V2.7995 demo. Tried to install crack EasyJob.Resume.Builder.v2.790_CRKEXE-FFF.zip. Program showed to be activated and registered but was not working properly. Could not print nor save files. Over course of day the program began crashing. Program crashing is getting worst.

    (2) When using IE browser will be directed to various types of advertisements.

    (3) Not sure when or how...possibly while using Easyjob Pro had AVG active protection running. Alerts came up several, many times about possible intrusion. Got frustrated and zoned out one too many times -- may have deleted file(s) I shouldn't have. or
during scanning and removal of spyware/malware I removed this file(s). In any event unable to utilize Control Panel's Add and Remove Program feature. A message box appears. Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe'. Make sure you typed name correctly....

Beginning to read Official Hijack This Tutorial to get up to speed on deciphering this myself...in a time crunch need your assistance to resolve these issues because I must get resume out by Friday for prospective employer.

    Re: Computer compromised 2 0f 2

Somehow you slipped by without us noticing. Sorry about that! We are just exceptionally busy.

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

Make sure you reboot after uninstalling the above!

After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

Continue by downloading two tools we will need

    - Process Explorer

    - Pocket KillBox

Extract them to their own folder somewhere that you will be able to locate them later.

Make sure you have rebooted in Normal Mode (do not open any other processes)
Also make sure that one and only one Internet Explorer browser is opened up

    - Run Process Explorer

In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of winbjt32.dll once and then click the kill button. After you have killed all of the winbjt32.dll under winlogon click ok. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

Now repeat the above step for the below DLLs (If you do not find the dll, just continue on):
    pmkjg.dll
    awtssrs.dll

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of winbjt32.dll and kill it. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

Now repeat the above step for the below DLLs (If you do not find the dll, just continue on):
    pmkjg.dll
    awtssrs.dll
Next double click on iexplore.exe and again click once on each instance of winbjt32.dll and kill it. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

Now repeat the above step for the below DLLs (If you do not find the dll, just continue on):
    pmkjg.dll
    awtssrs.dll

    Now just exit Process Explorer.

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0F01FF26-18F5-4613-BFD6-14DE2FBA24C3} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtssrs.dll
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {46A4E9D9-B30E-452A-8157-DBBEC8573B03} - C:\Program Files\VSAdd-in\VSAdd-in.dll

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E03C740E-BB24-4d3c-B92A-6F84DE1DD99C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\tyycjsrw.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: &VSAdd-in - {74DD705D-6834-439C-A735-A6DBE2677452} - C:\Program Files\VSAdd-in\VSAdd-in.dll
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winlog] winlog.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DllRunning] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\iavwxfhm.dll",setvm
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [winlog] winlog.exe
    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: 35.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: awtssrs - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\awtssrs.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: pmkjg - C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmkjg.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: winbjt32 - C:\WINDOWS\
NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now run Pocket Killbox by doubleclicking on killbox.exe
    • select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    • Choose Tools > Delete Temp Files and click Delete Selected Temp Files.
    • Then after it deletes the files click the Exit (Save Settings) button.
NOTE: Pocket Killbox will only list the added files it is able to find on the system. So when you do the below, if some files do not show in the list after pasting them in, just continue.

    Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
    • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtssrs.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmkjg.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlog.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ljjjkjk.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\opnllkl.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\xxyvvwv.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\eyrkllnn.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\gjkmp.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\SecureWin32.exe
    • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
    • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt.
If you receive a PendingFileRenameOperations prompt, just click OK to continue (But please let me know if you receive this message!).

If Killbox does not reboot just reboot your PC yourself.

Now please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program does not require an installation. The executable actually runs the program.

NOTE: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only. ATF Cleaner will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. Please move them to a different directory first.
    • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    • Under Main choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
    If you use Firefox browser
    • Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
      • NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
    If you use Opera browser
    • Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.
      • NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main ATF Cleaner menu to close the program.

Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. GetRunKey
    2. ShowNew - Please download the new version first!
    3. HJT
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

    Re: Computer compromised 2 0f 2

Please keep all communication for this topic here in the forum thread for all to learn and benefit from.

We do not work problems in PMs.

As far as your issue with rundll32.exe is concerned, do you see it in a Spybot backup?
Also did you search your PC for other copies? Also look for rundll32.ex_ The underscore indicates a compressed copy which may also be found a backup type folder ( this backup folder is typically named i386 and may be c:\i386 or it may be somewhere under your Windows folder )

    Completed steps up to date.

    PROBLEMS:

    1. Ran HJT did not find the entry
    O2- BHO: (no name)-{E03C740E-BB24-4d3c-B92A-6F84DE1DD99C}-C:\WINDOWS\system32\tyycjsrw.dll also

O4-HKLM\.\Run [DllRunning] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\iavwxfhm.dll".setvm ........this line was slightly different in my HJT log so I did nothing to it.

Otherwise completed all steps, sent new logs waiting for additional steps

You need to get NEW logs and attach them. I'm not sure what you are doing but you are not attaching the logs. You must make sure they are NEW logs that you just obtained. Otherwise you will be told you already uploaded the file.

Two files I asked you to delete with Pocket Killbox did not get removed. Try deleting the below again:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\eqrgncrg.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\rcsrfsxm.dll

Check to make sure they are deleted after a reboot by using Windows Explorer to look for them. If found, delete them manually.

Also since it took you so long to complete this thread, your Sun Java version is out of date again. Uninstall Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 and update from the same link I previously gave you.

After you think you got the two files deleted, and Java is updated, download the current version of ShowNew (you are way out of date with it too) and attach a new log from ShowNew.
