i just recently purchased a Nvidia Geforce 6200 video card for my comp. my comp. is not top notched, but i have enough stuff on it that it could run well enough to play Elderscrolls 4: Oblivion. the specs on my comp are: 2.4 ghz intel celeron processor, 768 rams, and the card, among miscellaneous parts. anyways,i would be playing Oblivion, and then when I engage in battle, the comp would lag for a few seconds, and then my whole comp would restart. when i return to the desktop, i would get an error message saying that my video card couldnt complete a "drawing pattern" or something. Oblivion is the only game that i play that would make the comp crash. if i walk around and stuff, it would be fine. just only when i engage in battle would it crash. i have the latest update in terms of drivers also. what do you guys recommend? again, my comp is not topnotched, but it could play games like Oblivion well enough. i just dont know why it keeps on crashing. any advice welcome. thanks in advance.

This is a guess only, does your 512 stick and the 256 match? Are they rated at the same speed?

Dug up this old post and was wondering if this could be a power supply issue?

    Heya Ed.

Reason I was asking was after I got my Radeon x850pro, I started tinkering with some overclocks. Was using the ATItool and after a few unsolisited shutdowns and reboots, I finally found what I thought were safe core and memory settings. I started playing my online gaming habit EverQuest (oh no, I'm not addicted. I can quit anytime I want). Anyway, EverQuests latest expansion came out, so every new zone I entered my computer had to take in all the new graphics. If I tried running through the zone without giving my computer time to recognize everything new, framerates would drop for a few seconds before my computer would either shutdown or reboot all on it's own.

What I'm thinking is that it's possible my computer can handle the graphics, but my power supply can't handle the load being demanded. Would upgrading to at least a 400w PSU solve the issues of trying to overclock my graphics?

What's the best way to give a detailed breakdown of my specs? I wanna be like da kewl kidz, and put accurate infoz in my sig :D

    let's see...
:( Power Supply: 300w (only has the 20pin connector, not 24)
    :D CPU: P4 2.66MHz 506 dual core Prescott (o.c.'d to 3.0MHz)
    Motherboard: ECS P4M800pro-M v1.0A
 RAMM: Corsair CMX1024-3200 (curious why Everest reads it as 200MHz when I thought the 3200's ran at 400MHz)
:D Video Card: ATI Radeon x850pro (running 128mb aperture, that right?)
 Hard Drive: Western Digital 80GB ATA WD800JB-32JJC0 (wanting to upgrade to SATA)
 Optical Storage: Crappy 52x cdrom (no use for dvd or burner atm, wife has a cd burner when needed)

Why does Everest show my memory running at 200MHz, instead of 400MHz like I believe it should? Is that because it's dual banked? making it 200x2 = 400MHz?

Also, the psu is 115w/8a/60hz. Are you saying I need to upgrade the psu?

Trying to get the most out of my computer, like most of us do.
