My computer had been popping up random windows saying that the computer was infected with the "blackworm virus" and poped up a website to down load a program to "fix" the problem. That problem has been fixed(using spybot search and destroy), but now the computer is still running slow. Also, upon booting, an error message appears that says 'invalid backweb' program '3528733'. The computer always crashes when attempting to scan with Adaware SE. Windows defender finds "TV Media Display" which it cannot remove and "TopRebates.WebRebates" which it removes and then it reappears. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have already followed the steps int he sticky (except for the adaware scan as it crashes the computer). attached is my hijackthis log.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!:)

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

Make sure you follow the instructions in step 0 Uninstall Malware via Add/Remove Programs

For example, uninstall weather bug and use something like Weather Watcher or Weather Pulse which are adware, malware free.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Please make sure you install HJT per the tutorial. Although your current directory gave me a chuckle:D C:\Documents and Settings\melissa\Desktop\fix the damn computer\HJT\HijackThis.exe it needs to be in a more permanent location as HJT creates a backup of anything it removes so that it can be restored if necessary. The desktop is not a safe place for this.

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
