Computer Doesn't Turn On If Not Plugged To Power Source

Hi,

I have Dell Inspiron 15-3567 laptop which is out of warranty by 6 months and the laptop only comes on if it is plugged to the power source. I am not certain if this is battery related vs. power connection issue....but welcome expert guidance on how to diagnose the issue to fix it.

It doesn't work when battery is removed and plugged in....? potential diagnosis and issues?

 

The message I get is when plugged and starting...

alert- the AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge.

Could this be connector issue or motherboard? Any way to diagnose which could be the issue.

 

I found this in quite a few places. This suggestion and link came from the Dell community answers section. Found in several other places also hp ect...... for other symptoms concerning batteries and charging and power problems also.

uninstall / reinstall (Microsoft) ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery in device manager by following the steps in link below:
