Hi. I am not sure if it is spyware that is causing this issue but my computer will freeze *Particularly, for example, when trying to run: Webpages with lots of ad's or *flashware, MSN Messenger almost always freezes upon loading, basically anything that uses a lot of whats the word, is it memory or ram (total amount of KB's for a program or page) sorry if my terminology is off but you get the idea, I think.

I should add that I am using a 1998 compaq presaqrio 128 MB memory and win XP, yes crappy but it is all I've got right now and she has surprisingly stayed alive for all of these years, so you have to give her some credit, lol. Anyways, I was wondering what I could do to figure out if it is possible to stop the freezing? I have to restart constantly and its getting annoying. Here is why I have hope though

I stopped using this comp for a while, maybe 3 years. Now when I first fired this pc back up it would freeze just trying to log on to windows. I was about to give up and call it a useless case but the more that I stuck with trying to start it up, the longer it began lasting. I got through the windows startup, deleted some files (Im at 3.29 GB) now and then I was able to search through the computer, win, files, apps, before it would freeze. The more I used the computer, the better it responded. It used to freeze immediately upon opening a browser but now I have got to the point where I can search webpages and read information without it freezing. It keeps getting better and I dont know why. With P2P like facebook, msn, it still freezes almost instantly. So basically do you guys know whats going on or if there is a way I can get this computer completely running again with the freezes? What Info do you need to know?

I did not post logs because I am unsure if this is an adware issue because once I reformatted this computer a long time ago and I think I recall it freezing after the reformat.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!
This is more than likely your problem. You can no longer run Windows XP and all the other software applications with so little memory. The absolute minimum we suggest for Win XP is 8 times ( 1 GB ) this amount but 16 times ( 2GB ) is preferred.

However it you want a proper analysis you would need to run our cleaning procedure and attach all the logs.
