    Hello,

I have been experiencing random freezes. Computer is XP SP2, AMD 6400, 1024 ram. I ran the CPU Stability Test 6.0(found here on MG)last night. The system froze about forty minutes into the test at the Windows media player part of the test. It appears that a log was generated on the desktop. I tried to access the file but could not. Any ideas? I will supply more info if neccessary.
Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!

    Bill

Check to make sure there isn't a build up of dust inside the computer, particularly the CPU Heatsink & fans....

Run a memory test, such as memtest86
Also may want to run a Hard Disk test

Both memory and hard drive (really anything) can cuase your machine to freeze.

Also download and run Speedfan to check your system temps. If heatsinks aren't seated properly can cause overheating. I'll post more later when i am at home.

Thanks for the feedback. I will run the other tests over the holidays and look forward to any other suggestions you may have.
