Computer Freezing Online and Offline!

I've been having major problems with my computer freezing while in Normal Mode for about a little while now. Within 5-10 mins my screen locks up, mouse and keyboard are not responsive, ctrl/alt/delete does not work. The only thing that responds is the disc drive can open and close. I need to shut down the computer using the power button to recover.

When I am in Safe Mode with Networking, I have all the time in the world to be online or offline without it freezing up.

I have tried to restore to an earlier point (by pressing F8 and going through the Repair Computer thing) but i get a message that states there are no restore points (which I know I've manually made a few before it started freezing up) and when I try to create a restore point I get a message that says the computer is running in a limited diagnostic state and it wont let me do anything.

I am trying not to restore to the factory setting so any help will be greatly appreciated. I have followed the instructions for removing any viruses and have attached the requested results. I had to run all of these in Safe Mode with Networking and I ran them 2 days ago and then again today and have different results. I will attach the results from today since it now seems like I have a trojan too! :(

    My computer specs:
    version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Basic, Service Pack 2, 32 bit
    Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU 585 @ 2.16GHz, x64 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13
    Processor Count: 1
    RAM: 2939 Mb
Graphics Card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family, 1342 Mb
    Hard Drives: C: Total - 143736 MB, Free - 110643 MB;

What is reporting a trojan and where? In what location?

    Those logs look good.

the trojan was detected in mbam and again in hitman. it shows them in the logs that were attached the other day.

when i run the malwarebytes anti-malware it now shows 33 detected items. I have attached the log. then of course because i ignored the things that were detected in mbam, when i run hitman the same things are detected. :confused

however, if the logs look ok, what do i do from here to start fixing my freezing problem in normal mode?

What Hitman is detecting you can just delete. Speed up my pc or cleanmyPC is just crap.

You did not let MBAM fix what it found by the looks so as soon as you do that and rescan nothing else should be found.

You can post in the software forum regarding the freezing issue, or maybe that will disappear once you fix those items for good with MBAM.

Let me know if they reappear or not, yes?

I removed the things in mbam and restarted the computer in normal mode. i started scanning it again while in normal mode and it got to 5 mins 7 sec and froze.

i spoke with a friend last night about the problem and was told it was probably the hard drive crashing. is there a way to fix that with out having to restore the computer?

Try scanning with MBAM in safe mode. I don't know whether your hard drive is dying or not but I don't think you have a malware problem.

You''re welcome. Yes, posting in software is best idea. :) Best of luck.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
