Computer freezing

    Ok I got a computer from my aunt, it a compaq presario with AMD sempron and 256 RAM and XP. When I start my computer up it will go to the desktop for like 10 seconds then it will freeze. Computer still freezes in safe mode, I took my hard drive and put it in a different computer and it works fine I tried taking out all the hardware not nessasary and it still freezes. HELP PLEASEE!!!

    Have you checked for software conflicts with the hardware in that computer? Have you tried another drive in it, or possibly a bootable CD?

    I don't think it will boot from CD and I have another one that I tried and it freezes, but it dosent freeze in BIOS???
